REEL FOOD FROM REEL WOMEN: Our Favorite Dishes, is now in the hands of my graphic designers. I’m really excited about its upcoming release! It’s been quite a bit of work, and I hope you all will enjoy it.

Now, I can get back to screenwriting! I need to do a final polish on “Virgin Canyon Massacre,” which is a lesbian supernatural thriller. I also have the outline for a lesbian P.I. drama that I want to start writing in about 2 months.

So, busy times again! Rock ‘n Roll, baby!

The Dolls is an avante-garde drag troupe that’s been performing in Albuquerque, New Mexico for about 15 years. Their play “Malice in Wonderland” will soon be out as a feature film…shot on green screen with very campy and bawdy humor. http://www.thedollsmovie.com I really think this will be a MUST SEE drag film! I was on set a couple times watching the filming, and it was so hard for all us of to not break out in laughter! The costumes and make-up are tremendous, as well.

The film will begin post-production in a couple days, and the goal is to have a trailer by March 1st.

You can help with the costs of finishing this film by pre-ordering the DVD for only $20, at this time. The DVD will include autographs from the cast. Can’t beat that with a stick!

What’s New

I can’t believe that January is almost over. I know I’ve been derelict of my duties as a blogger, but sheesh…have things been busy!

Besides my full-time job, I’m taking a writing class and WOW! does that take time. I’ve met with people who have asked for help on their film projects…two of which I have agreed to.

The Dolls is a drag troupe in Albuquerque that have been giving us live performances for about 15 years. The plays are comedic, bawdy, and quite a bit naughty. They are making a film of one of these plays, “Malice in Wonderland.” I will be helping them with their marketing and publicity, and the film is already in production.

“Malice In Wonderland: The Dolls Movie” is their first project. I can’t wait to see the final project. Here’s a link to their website: http://www.thedollsmovie.com .

Also, I’m researching a group of women who in the 1950’s and early 60’s went thru the same training as men to become astronauts, but were never allowed to go into space. And, so, Russia beat us to that. It took almost 4 decades before Sally Ride became the first US woman in space!

So, that’s what I’ve been up to so far this month. I hope all of you are having a great new year so far.

Mango Salsa recipe

Hello all,
This recipe will be in my upcoming cookbook, REEL FOOD FROM REEL WOMEN (which will be available on Amazon.com). Thought I’d share it with you now as it is great for holiday get-togethers. Happy Holidays!

Mango Salsa

Ingredients:
2 Mangoes – peeled and chopped in small chunks
1 medium to large avocado – chopped in small chunks
1 ½ tbsp. cilantro
1 sm. can (4 oz.) chopped green chile
1 cup chopped tomato
1 cup chopped green onions
2 tbsp. lime juice
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 pinch of salt
Optional ingredients:
1-2 tbsp. tequila
½ – 1 tbsp. chopped jalapeno (more or less according to taste)

Instructions:
Simply mix all ingredients together in a medium-sized bowl.

Refrigerate one hour before serving.

Note: This salsa is wonderful with chips, or as an accent for fish such as tilapia.
